EGIS Praha processes personal data provided by you, for example by sending an e-mail or by contacting us through the online contact form with a question regarding products or a job offer. In this respect, please bear in mind that sending personal data or other information via the Internet may not be completely secure.

EGIS Praha has adopted technical and organizational measures to protect personal data from unauthorized access, disclosure, theft, alteration or destruction. These measures are reviewed and improved regularly.
The data are processed to the extent provided by you and may be combined with other data obtained from publicly available sources, such as public registers of legal entities or from other companies of the Servier Group. EGIS Praha does not obtain your data from other sources. Provided personal data that are not necessary for the purpose of their processing are not processed.
The data are processed for the purpose of further communication with you, i.e. in particular for answering your request. You will be informed about their processing for another purpose, for example in the event that an employment or other contractual relationship between you and EGIS Praha is established.
Personal data are stored for the period required by statutory law. If no such period is required, the data will be kept for the time necessary to fulfill the purpose of their processing, or for up to five years following their provision.
Personal data may be transferred to other companies of the Servier Group. The data may also be transferred to the provider of services necessary for their processing, for example to the operator of a data center in which they are stored. In this case, the data can be transferred also to countries that are not member states of the European Union (United States of America, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Canada).
You are entitled to request from EGIS Praha, as the controller of your personal data:

EGIS Praha gathers information on suspected adverse incidents of medical devices as part of cooperation with their distributor or importer to carry out obligations under the Medical Devices Act. EGIS Praha is therefore entitled and at the same time obliged to process your personal data, or the personal data of your patients which you provide to EGIS Praha in the course of reporting these suspicions.
The purpose of processing these personal data is to gather information on suspected adverse incident and to submit this information to the manufacturer of the medical device concerned or to the State Institute for Drug Control to ensure that the incident is properly investigated and that appropriate measures are taken.
Personal data is processed only to the extent necessary for the stated purpose. These data include primarily your contact details, i.e. your name and surname, telephone number and e-mail address, so that we can obtain further information on the adverse incident, if necessary. Also processed are identification data of the medical device, i.e. its trade name and possibly other information such as batch number etc. To achieve the above purpose, we will also need and process information on the adverse incident itself, i.e. its description, date of its occurrence, number of affected patients and its effects. Achieving the purpose is also not possible without information about these patients, i.e. without their initials, year of birth or sex.
If you send us also other personal data which is not related to the above purpose of the personal data processing or which is not necessary to achieve this purpose, these personal data will be erased and will not be further processed.
The personal data provided together with other information about the adverse incident may be submitted to the manufacturer of the medical device and to the State Institute for Drug Control, to whom EGIS Praha is obliged to report any suspected adverse incident. You can also submit the report directly to the State Institute for Drug Control yourself via the form on its website. These data and information may be further shared with other companies of the EGIS Group in order to compare and investigate adverse incidents in all countries where the medical device concerned is marketed.
Given the period for which the State Institute for Drug Control retains documentation on adverse incidents EGIS Praha shall keep the provided personal data for at least 15 years, or for 30 years if the adverse incident was related to injury or death of the user, patient or other individual. After this period, the personal data will be erased if they will not be longer needed to achieve the purpose described above, for example due to termination of the marketing of the medical device in question.
Personal data provided by you will be made available to you at your request. Send this request by e-mail to farmakovigilance@egispraha.cz. You can also request the rectification of these personal data. Since we are obliged to process personal data by the operation of law, we cannot erase them and we will not be able to comply with any request for their erasure. Before handling your request, we may require sufficient identification from you to prevent disclosure of your personal data to an unauthorized person. If you have reported an adverse incident that has occurred to another person, only your own personal (contact) information will be made available to you or rectified at your request.
If you believe that law has been violated in the course of the processing your personal data, you can file a complaint with the Office for Personal Data Protection.
EGIS Praha obtains information on suspected adverse reactions to medicinal products in the course of cooperation with their marketing authorization holder as part of carrying out pharmacovigilance obligations under the Pharmaceuticals Act. EGIS Praha is therefore entitled and at the same time obliged to process your personal data, or the personal data of other persons if you do not report your own adverse reaction (but for example that of your patient or relative), which you provide to EGIS Praha as part of reporting these suspicions.
The purpose of this personal data processing is to gather information on suspected adverse reactions and to evaluate them in order to take appropriate action.
Personal data is processed only to the extent necessary for the stated purpose. These data include primarily the initials of the person whose adverse reaction is being reported, date of this person’s birth and sex. Also processed is the name of the medicinal product to which the suspected adverse reaction, i.e. adverse or unintended reaction, relates and description of this reaction, including the date of its occurrence, its duration, its symptoms, its consequences etc. Your contact details, i.e. telephone number or e-mail are also necessary for us in order to contact you and learn more information. If you are not the physician who treated the patient at the time of the adverse reaction, in particular physician who prescribed the medicinal product that was supposed to cause this reaction, it is necessary to process also the contact details of that physician in order to achieve the above purpose.
If you send us also other personal data that are not related to the above purpose of personal data processing or data that are not necessary to achieve this purpose, these personal data will be erased and will not be further processed.
The personal data provided may be submitted to the State Institute for Drug Control, to which EGIS Praha is obliged to report any suspected adverse reactions. You can also submit the report directly to the State Institute for Drug Control yourself via the form on its website. The personal data provided may be further shared with other companies of the EGIS Group in order to compare and investigate adverse reactions in all countries where its medicinal products are marketed. We are also obliged to send the information obtained on all suspected adverse reactions to the European Eudravigilance database by the operation of law.
In accordance with the Pharmaceuticals Act, we are required to store the information on suspected adverse reactions for at least 10 years. After this period, personal data will be erased if they are no longer needed to achieve the purpose described above, for example due to termination of the marketing of the medicinal product in question.

EGIS Praha processes personal data of healthcare professionals and representatives and contact persons of healthcare organizations to the extent specified below

EGIS Praha processes personal data exclusively for the above purposes and retains these data for the above periods. Some personal data may be processed for longer periods required by law, such as data contained in accounting or tax documents.
